On the other hand, it functions well. I also doubt the retail price posted on Amazon. I recently purchased this drive, and compared to others that I own, e.g., a Verbatim, this one is made of what appears to be very cheap plastic. Time will tell if it will hold up to normal use, but I have my doubts.
It came apart after 10 months of use, the plastic seems to be very cheap. I've had the drive for about 10 months. If you want a USB drive, try Kingston's more reliable/compatible/trusty DTI series or other brands. I had to tape it back together with black tape. It doesn't work well with my Mac Leopard 10.5 OS, it locks up after an undetermined amount of time and it sometimes even brings the OS along with it. Apart from this, the construction is of poor quality.
But that's more about the machines than the drive. On my desktop it only worked on the USB ports in the back. The USB flash drive worked just fine on laptops. I had to be careful on some machines to make sure the drive letter was unique.
Thank You. This product was very easy to use and opperate, too. I highly recommand this product to friend.
I don't expect it to last forever, after two years I'll want a bigger one anyway. Feels solid enough for what it is. I think this thing will last two years. Very nice thumb drive. I haven't reformatted to NTFS yet, which should make it operate even faster, but have no gripes about the current FAT32 speeds.Activity light is small and not distractive, just enough to be able to verify it's working.
